Review: Out of Line by Jen McLaughlin

SYNOPSIS:Out of Line

Desperate to break free…

I’ve spent my entire life under my father’s thumb, but now I’m finally free to make my own choices. When my roommate dragged me to my first college party, I met Finn Coram and my life turned inside out. He knows how to break the rules and is everything I never knew I wanted. A Marine by day and surfer by night, he pushes me away even as our attraction brings us closer. Now I am finally free to do whatever I want. I know what I want. I choose Finn.

Trying to play by the rules…
I always follow orders. My job, my life, depends on it. I thought this job would be easy, all the rules were made crystal clear, but when I met Carrie Wallington, everything got muddy. She’s a rule I know I shouldn’t break, but damn if I don’t inch closer to the breaking point each time I see her. I’m ready to step out of line. And even worse? I’m living a lie. They say the truth will set you free, but in my case…
The truth will cost me everything.
REVIEW:

This book, oh I don’t even know what to say because I am frazzled from all the emotions I am experiencing! This book was a journey not only for Carrie but for Finn also. Let me start with Carrie. She is sheltered, lives in a bubble, but wants out. She wants to escape this over-protection and bubble…she just doesn’t know how.

Cue Finn. Finn was really there for her protection but he didn’t plan on falling for her. Finn and Carrie are on two different social levels. This book is filled with lies, betrayal, lust, love and moments when you will really want to punch Carrie, or Finn, or sometimes both of them for begin so difficult. I would go from needing a cold shower to wanting to yell at Carrie or throw my Kindle across the room.

My emotions are still recovering. Then the book ends on a cliffhanger and I am left with all these feelings and wondering what the hell is going to happen in the next book! I don’t know why Jen McLaughlin/Diane Alberts would do this to me, the suspense will simply kill me. There are several possibilities I could guess at but for now I will attempt to patiently await the release of book 2 in 2014 and in the mean time encourage everyone to go pick up this book for a refreshing NA novel!

FAVORITE QUOTES:

I’d like to say I deserve you, but the truth is I don’t and never will. You deserve a prince, and you’re not going to catch him wearing that.
