Review: Built by Jay Crownover

SYNOPSIS:25197119

Sometimes you have to tear everything down to build something new…

Sayer Cole is frozen inside. At least, that’s what it’s felt like for as long as she can remember. She’s yet to let anyone past her icy exterior – and the one guy she thinks might melt her heart couldn’t possibly be interested in someone so uptight.

Rough, hard and hot-as-hell, Zeb Fuller has rebuilt his life and his construction business since protecting his family sent him to jail all those years ago. His elegant client, Sayer, makes him feel like a Neanderthal in denim, but despite the many hints that he’s been dropping to get to know her better, she seems oblivious to his charms.

Just as things finally start to heat up, Zeb’s past comes back to haunt him and he needs Sayer’s professional help to right a wrong and to save more than himself. As these opposites dig in for the fight of their lives, fire and ice collide in an unstoppable explosion of steam…

REVIEW:

Hot damn…Mr. Fixit can come fix up my place anytime. Zeb, Zeb, Zeb, can we cue copious amounts of swooning and fangirling. This book was H.O.T. and delicious, I don’t know why I haven’t read it sooner. It’s like a mini family reunion, I get enough of secondary/minor characters to satiate my desires while being solely focused on this completely new series and world. Rowdy was blowing me away with his endless wisdom and love for Sayer. Zeb was all man but he had such a gentle soul, talk about the total package *wink, wink*.

Sayer, well it took a bit for me to warm up to her icy disposition. She was fickle at times and while I loved the banter between her and Zeb, at moments I was literally yelling at her through the pages to get her sh*t together! Lastly, I can’t forget to mention that a 5 year old managed to swoop in, capture and captivate my heart. Hyde is the cutest little man I ever met and even I wanted to bundle him up and give him endless bouts of love! Usually I tend to avoid books that have children in them because I feel they take away from the romance but with Hyde there was just more love in my heart. This book was perfection, I giggled, I loved, I yelled (as to be expected with a Jay Crownover book), and finally I left with a full heart.
