Craigslist Ad: DESPERATELY SEEKING EPIC

You’re my father.
I don’t know much about you. I know your name is Paul James, you’re a thrill seeker, and once upon a time you did stunts and people called you ‘Epic.’
I’ve been told you don’t know about me. That it’s complicated.
But for me it’s simple.
Here’s the thing: I’m twelve years old…and I’m dying.
And as much as this could crush my mother, I have to meet you before I go.
In time, I’m sure she’ll understand. She’s still in love with you.
So, Epic, if you read this, please come back. You don’t have to be my dad. You don’t even have to tell me you love me or you’re sorry. Just come see me.

Patiently waiting, but running out of time,

Neena

REVIEW:

*Book Received in Exchange for Honest Opinion/Review*

This book was beautiful, gutting, tragic, and stunning all in one. I laughed, I cried, I sobbed, and I giggled; and just when you think your heart can’t grow anymore…B.N. Toler out does herself and makes you fall in love all over again. This book is tragically beautiful, how heartbreaking it is to fall in love with a dying character. Neena was a beautiful child who was curious, shameless, bold, and outspoken. She burrowed her way into my heart and I will never be the same again.

Clara and Paul are flawless in their love and life. It goes to show you that time does make the heart grow fonder. Even after years of separation, love can withstand the most devastating heartbreaks, and love can lead you through the pain. Secondary characters are comical and goes to show you that family doesn’t necessarily have to be blood. This story was stunning, taking me on an emotional journey and leaving me speechless in the end.

I don’t hate Toler for it, no quite the opposite, I adore and love her more. If you are looking for a book that will mark your heart, stop the search now…go read this! It is heavy and light, past and present, wrapped together in a life-changing book.
