Review: Tear by Rachel Van Dyken

SYNOPSIS:

Life as a teenager is never easy. But for Natalee Murray, things have just gotten way more difficult. Bored with life, she can’t wait to graduate high school and get out of town, especially considering the famous band members from AD2 suddenly start attending her school, making her once boring life, absolutely insane.

It starts with a pen. A single brush of fingers, and she is captivated.

But Alec and Demetri have a dark secret, one that could shatter their reputations and Natalee’s heart. What do you do when one guy paints your life with color while the other infuses your soul with passion? How do you choose when your heart is divided?

REVIEW:

I loved this book, as I sit down to write this review, I just can’t get over how disappointed I am in my past self for not starting this series sooner! I don’t know what it is but lately I have been on a rockstar romance binge and no one is better to remedy this than Rachel Van Dyken. I have been reading about these characters in her Seaside Pictures series and now, I realize they had their own story, so begins the next week of me devouring all the books! ALL OF THEM!

Now let me start off by saying I had no idea there was a love triangle here…it had a Twilight vibe to it where as there is a triangle but it is never really their because you always know Bella will end up with Edward. It is a no competition love triangle. Moving along, I am in love with Demetri and Alec, Demetri had me giggling with his easy going attitude and then breaking my heart with his coping mechanisms. Alec was dark, brooding, and mysterious…with a whole lot of sexual tension…I mean damn. Swooning, I was just in a constant state of swooning from both of them.

Natalee was adorable and I found her so cute but she was a little too much of a sob fest for my liking, I mean she had to cry over something in almost every other chapater…girl, pull yourself together. Natalee’s relationships with both the guys had me sighing, cheering her on, and yelling at her, all at once. The ending of the story left me with a smile and a giggle. What can I say, I am a sucker for a Rachel Van Dyken story.
