Review: This Summer by Katlyn Duncan

SYNOPSIS:This Summer

Before college, before responsibilities, Hadley Beauman and best friend Lily are determined to have a summer to remember. There will be all the usual dramas – ex-boyfriends who don’t seem to know what ‘ex’ means, pesky younger brothers with unrequited crushes, but what Hadley didn’t anticipate was the out-of-the-blue return of the seriously hot boy-next-door, Will Carson. The boy who broke her heart when he skipped town two years ago.

Will may have shot up a foot and filled out (oh yes), but inside he carries the weight of guilt – for leaving, for coming back… Now he’s just passing through to tie up loose ends but it’s clear the old chemistry still crackles between him and Hadley. Trouble is, it’s built on two years of lies…

This summer might just be the best time of their lives, but is Hadley ready for everything to change – again?

REVIEW:

You know when you have been reading too many dark, deep moody books and you need something light and refreshing to read, that’s this book. This book was so nice and such a change up, taking you back to high school where your only concerns are boys, college, and enjoying the summer. It reminded me of high school where the little things seem like the end of the world!

Let me dive in, Hadley was sweet and kind and I loved Will. Can I have a Will of my own? He has his troubles but when everything is out in the open, nothing seems to great to overcome. I have a love hate relationship with Lily. You know that friend of yours who is a bad influence, yeah, that’s Lily in this book. She is a horrible influence in my opinion…and kinda slutty but I guess Hadley and Lily balance each other well.

This book is about growing up, finding out who your friends are, and more importantly finding out who you are.
