Review: Tied to Trouble by Megan Erickson

SYNOPSIS:

Between love and hate, there’s a whole lot of trouble…

Chad Lake only showed up at his sister’s party for the free food, but when he spots an uptight nerd at the edge of the crowd, he can’t resist trying to ruffle the guy’s perfect bow tie and impeccable hair. The hottie’s ready for him, though, and in the end, it’s Chad who’s left wide-eyed, his ears still ringing with the filthy things Bow Tie whispered in his ear. No one gets the upper hand on Chad. Ever.

Owen Hawkins has heard all about the cocky Adonis from Chad’s sister—the same sister who holds Owen’s career advancement in her hands. He has every intention of steering clear of the other man…until Chad’s sexy taunts push him too far. There’s something intriguing about Chad, and even though Owen knows that getting tangled up with the infuriating man is trouble, he can’t seem to stay away…

**This is part of an M/F series but can be read as standalone**

REVIEW:

Okay, let me start by getting something off my chest, this is my first, full length M/M novel. I went into it with an open mind because, come on this is Megan Erickson and I know she did her research. What I was not expecting was to fall in love with both Owen and Chad! I loved them both since the first book when I was secretly shipping them. Then I find out they get their own book, cue the squee-ing!

This book was scorching, burn me alive, steamy, dreamy perfection. Megan had me in a constant stage of blushing and giggling…my face was hurting from it all. The relationship between Owen and Chad isn’t easy, it was hard fought and won. I adored Chad, and if I am being honest, I kind of relate to Chad’s journey to finding himself. I love a good character on the patch to self-discovery, sign me up! Owen was sexy and nerdy and after reading this I will never look at bow-ties or polka-dots the same again.

I kind of loved the contrast between Owen and Chad as well, they are complete opposites yet perfect for each other. The intimate moments were one part sex education, one part hot. I won’t lie, there were several moments where I was thinking, “So that’s how that happens?” much to the dismay of my bookish friends. Naive and innocent, table for 1, over here. Also can I get an ‘Amen’ for another supply closet scene…Megan never disappoints!
