Review: Escaping Me by Elizabeth Lee
All she wants to do is forget. Forget the memory of walking in on her boyfriend in the middle of, well, another girl. Forget how she had her entire life planned out. And forget about being perfect all the time. Unfortunately, she is Whitney Vandaveer, and despite the fact that she has moved to the middle of nowhere—she can’t.
He’s always known he would never be more than nothing. No job, no money, no future. Cole Pritchett has accepted the fact that he will always be the screw up, and he is okay with it. Until he meets her.
Here’s the thing they quickly find out—sometimes we all need a little help escaping who we think we are.
REVIEW:
What to say, what to say other than I absolutely adored this book! I have yet to ever read a novel by Elizabeth Lee and be disappointed and Escaping Me is ranking up there as one of my favorite novels by this author. She has just has a way with words that makes you relate to the characters and feel what they feel.
I can relate the Whitney, I can feel her pain, betrayal, and broken heart. I can sympathize with her and I wish I had a sibling like she did, Mallory. Mallory was a support as was their mother and Whitney learns to heal and stand up for herself. I think something that we can all relate to. Maybe that is why I love this author, I can relate in some way to the story lines, always.
Then there is Cole, sexy, backwoods, f*ck up Cole. God I am so lusting for Cole, I love how he is screwed up and just trying to figure his sh*t out and I love that there are ups and downs and this novel had me on the edge of my seat. I was giggling and blushing at 16%, at 58% I was in shock, jaw dropped, and saying no freakin way, at 81% I was like what is going to happen, and at completion I was a peace with Cole and Whitney. So please go check out all Elizabeth Lee’s novels, you will not be disappointed, I promise.
I can’t wait for Mallory’s novel to come out! WINTER 2013!!
