Review: Taking Something by Elizabeth Lee

SYNOPSIS: taking-something-front-cover

I know what you’re thinking. “You were such a jerk, Nick!” Believe me, I know I screwed up the best thing I had going in my life, but that was kind of my thing. I’d learned how to run cons before I could even form complete sentences, and I’d always been selfish. But I changed. Lila forgave me, my brother and I were getting along, and I was trying to make a name for myself in the music world.

At least that was what I was trying to do when I negotiated my way into the recording studio with pop superstar Sadie Sinclair. I thought it would be a piece of cake—charm my way into her heart and into her record label’s good graces.

Just when I thought I had it all figured out, I got mixed up in a web of lies, manipulation, and deception. A web that had me questioning my motives and desires altogether.

Was the fame and fortune really worth the price?

REVIEW:

Oh Nick, this was the redemption I was seeking from you, packaged in a wonderful book! This is the follow up book to Give Me Something, and it did not disappoint! Have no fear, there is still plenty of Lila and other secondary characters that you will fall in love with. At the end of Give Me Something, Nick Kline needs to be throat punched, no seriously he was awful! He starts off on a rather notorious foot and is his usual douche-bag self. He is working as a DJ and trying to break into the industry and become a producer.

Cue Sadie Sinclair…who in my opinion is a certified crazy. If you thought Nick was bad, good Lord Sadie is something else entirely. You also meet Sadie’s assistant/helper/manager/b*tch who is named Gia. Gia is a sweetheart and has alot of baggage. I don’t want to give anything away but know this there are some crazy things that happen and these things would only happen to Nick! Nick would only be the one to find himself in this crazy scenario. I really liked this book and it was an amazing follow-up, happily-ever-after guaranteed.
