REVIEW:
Another amazing, phenomenal book by the wonderful and talented Cheryl McIntyre! I don’t even know where to start this review. Briar and Benji have a long history, dating back to when they were young children, one that eventually blossomed into a love that withstands time. When they were teenagers, Benji, his brother (Jax), and his mother leave town. You learn that his mother is a druggie and eventually Benji picks up some of those habits. However, there is a ton of drama that ensues. Death, a drug lord in search of payments, fires, gun shots, and so much more happens.
The ending leaves you with your jaw on the ground and me quickly search Goodreads wondering if there would be a book 2. Thank the good lord there is because the book doesn’t end with a happily ever after. I love Cheryl McIntyre’s books because she touches on topics that many authors consider voo-doo and she does it with skill, grace, and a knowledge of topic. It isn’t quite like her other books but its different and beautiful. An absolute must read!
