Review: The Wrath and The Dawn by Renee Ahdieh
SYNOPSIS:

REVIEW:
I am on the fence with this book, there were things I liked and things I didn’t like. First, I wasn’t a fan of the names…it is extremely difficult for me to get into a book when I can’t even pronounce the characters names. Secondly, the first half of the book was extremely slow. I mean there was a little bit of action and excitement but I was bored and thankfully the last 40% really picked up my interests.
Once I got the name down of all the characters (there are a great deal of secondary characters), I really enjoyed how developed and complex they were. I loved Shazi and how she developed and progressed as a character as well as how Khalid changed over the course of the book. The ending is a huge, monstrous, epic cliff-hanger where I literally sat there after the last page and said, “That’s it? That’s how its going to end?”. Was this a 5 star read for me, no. Will I pick up the second book, yes.
