Review: The Anchor by B.N. Toler

This book was sweet and steamy, exactly what I expected from B.N. Toler and she never disappoints. I received the first Holly Springs novel to review a while ago and it was one of the more scandalous books I read in terms of sex scenes. In contrast, The Anchor focuses more on the love and the falling for each other in unfortunate circumstances. While it is not as sexually shocking as The Suit, some scenes will still leave you need a glass of cold water.
The characters are well developed and an excellent contrast, Parker had everything that Nikki didn’t have and vice versa. I loved falling all in love with these characters, the only thing that bothered me was Nikki’s resilience to change. I felt bad for Parker because just like book one, the man in the relationship has to throw away his dreams for the woman of his dreams. I wish there could have been more of a compromise. Although B.N. Toler will always be my go to for contemporary romance.
