Review: The One Thing by Marci Lyn Curtis
SYNOPSIS:

I enjoyed this book, it wasn’t a terribly emotional read for me but more so that I enjoyed the journey of this novel. I loved Ben, who would have thought that a 10 year old would capture my heart within a matter of pages and hold it hostage? He was adorable, sweet, and I wish more people in the world would be like Ben. Then there is Maggie, I really enjoyed reading the progression of Maggie learning to cope with her blindness. This is something completely unique to this book, I have never come across anything like this in Young Adult.
This had story had everything I wanted and hoped for in a Young Adult novel, romance, angst, self-discovery, family drama, self-realization, learning what really matters in life, and finding out who your friends really are. This could have been a sob fest but I am really glad that Marci didn’t rip out my heart…she just slapped it around a little bit instead. I am really looking forward to see what comes next, maybe a sequel book? I would love to learn more about the secondary characters! This book is definitely about the journey…but the destination was pretty great too.
