Release Day Blitz and Review: Lux by Courtney Cole
My name is Calla Price and I’m broken.
My pieces are all around me, floating on the wind, even as I desperately try to grasp them.
Who is dead? Alive? Insane?
What is the truth?
I don’t know.
I do know this: The darkness is strangling me. With every breath, I choke on another lie.
My mind has protected me, but that shield will soon be lowered.
All will be revealed.
Every answer to every question.
It’s all been leading to this.
Don’t be afraid.
Be terrified.

I feel like this series has taken me to the brink of madness and back, in the best possible way. I had to take a couple hours after finishing the book to wrap my head around my feelings. At first I experienced disappointment…this was not the big finally to an epic series, in my mind (initially) it didn’t live up to my expectations. However, after having some time to process it, I think the ending was quite perfect. It answered all my questions and while I would have loved for Courtney to go into more detail, she left me with enough to make me happy.
The story carried on in its usual mind-bending plot, up until 50%. From 50% to 75%, I felt like I was going through a mini-retelling of Nocte (Book 1) and Verum (Book 2), with minor tweaks. But then you get to the ending and you are questioning what happened, what was real, was it all real? I personally believe it was all real, and the ending was real and Calla deserves and got an HEA because d*mn*t she deserved one!
Don’t forget about my sweet, sweet love for Dare, there is plenty of Dare to go around…but I am keeping him all to myself. These characters are so complex, it’s like peeling an onion, one layer at a time, one book at a time…to get down to who they really are. This was the perfect conclusion, I was captivated, enthralled, and saddened to know the madness has come to an end; however, I think Courtney created enough inner madness to sustain me for a while.
