Audio Review: Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch

REVIEW:
This book was deliciously perfect. I felt like I was having a ‘Come to Jesus’ moment while reading it, as if this was the book I have been waiting for. What made it even better was that this was the first audio-book I absolutely fell in love with. My morning and afternoon commutes were so much more pleasant, what went from being road rage turned into wishing that I didn’t have to get out of my car. Minus the part where Sara had me crying in the morning because she killed off someone I had emotional attachment to and my co-workers asking, “What’s wrong?”. The book was a wonderful fantasy that I gladly wanted to escape to and never return from.
The characters have depth and emotions, their struggles and challenges were palpable. I felt as if I was transported into the complex kingdoms and relationships of this mystical world, where magic is both good and evil. I was captivated and swooning over Mather and Theron. This was the case where a love triangle appeared and I honestly didn’t know who I would pick, I still don’t know. I loved the plot, and while slightly predictable, there were still plenty of moments where I sat and questioned what was going to happen, how would the characters get out of these situations.
I cannot say enough good things about this book, I loved everything, it was a YA fantasy that I never want to end. In conclusion, I was captivated…oh who am I kidding I am still captivated, and feel the most wonderful kind of book hangover coming on.
