Nobody does romance like Lyla Payne does romance. I have been a die hard Lyla Payne fan since the Whitman University series and squealed with delight when Mistletoe and Mr. Right arrived at my doorstep. These two quick romance reads were just what I needed to get into the Christmas spirit. While the stories and endings are predictable, they are sweet and filled with mini-moments of bliss.The stories were a super quick read and had the perfect dash of sass mixed in with romance. I loved the sleigh ride, the landscape, the scenery, the imagery. I felt like I was transported across the Atlantic and placed in a winter wonderland filled with sexy accents and swoon-worthy men. Yes, please!
Everyone has someone in their life who is a Jessica, obsessed with planning and every last detail. The characters are relate-able and I love awkward scenes which makes me love Mistletoe all the more. Mr. Right is a second chance romance and while I sometimes find second chance romances repetitious, that wasn’t the case with Lyla Payne. The story is realistic and I really love that the characters don’t just quit their lives and run off into the sun-set (or blizzard) together. So if you are looking for some holiday cheer, or the perfect book to cozy up to by the fire, look no further, because Mistletoe and Mr. Right is your book!
