REVIEW:
This was a sweet novella about Queen Amberly, prior to her life as a queen. This is the story of her journey through The Selection. Amberly has a lot thicker accent than I anticipated and it completely slipped my mind that she was of Honduras heritage. It also completely shattered my heart that the pollution and smog is so heavy in the south…why? I was actually left ponder and questioning this broken nation far more than I anticipated.
There was once a sweet and caring side to Clarkson and it is disappointing to know that he as a human deteriorated to reflect the personality of his father. Clarkson was damaged from the start, his father and mother both needed to be quarantined and Clarkson himself in some intensive therapy. My heart ached for the broken family running this broken country.
It also appears palace security has dramatically improved since Clarkson’s Selection. Overall, I enjoyed this brief insight into the lives of both Amberly and Clarkson.
