Audio Review: The Favorite by Kiera Cass
While America Singer’s heart was torn between Aspen and Prince Maxon, her friend Marlee knew exactly what she wanted—and paid the price.
Revisit the captivating world of Kiera Cass’s #1 New York Times bestselling Selection series in this digital original novella. Told from Marlee’s point of view, this all-new 64-page story returns to the fateful Halloween when Marlee and Carter were discovered, and reveals how that night—and Prince Maxon—changed their lives forever.
REVIEW:
Marlee is amazing, I loved everything about this insight into her mind and her heart. She is resilient and determined and while I knew she was always hiding something, it was really nice to see how it all started. From a face plant to falling in love, Marlee reminds me of the typical studious girl. Focused on her studies, inexperienced, awkward, shy but comfortable in her own skin.
How Kiera was able to pack a mini love story into 64 page I will never know. Unfortunately, this novella contained spoilers to The One, which I haven’t read yet. I think for that reason, the novella should be not be marked as 2.6 in the reading order. It should most certainly be read after The One; however, I loved hearing Marlee and finding out that her and Carter are still very much in love. I understand why Marlee’s novella is titled The Favorite, because she was certainly one of my favorite characters.
