Audio Review: Happily Ever After by Kiera Cass

REVIEW:
Since I have individually reviewed each of the novellas, this review will be primarily based on Celeste, Lucy, the bonus epilogue, and where are they now. I absolutely adored that Kiera gave a little insight prior to the start of each novella, mainly why is was chosen, was it difficult to write, and how did she feel about this character. The novellas, as well as this entire story should be read after completing The One, otherwise you are going to come across some predictable spoilers.
That aside, in The Selection I absolutely loathed Celeste and by the end of The One I wanted her to stay around forever. She really grew as a character and realized the errors in her ways, even going so far to apologize for her past mistakes. Celeste ended up being so strong and determined and I kind of loved her for that. I found that I didn’t particularly care for Lucy or her scene. I found her to be fickle and needy throughout the story and I was annoyed with her personality on more than one occasion so I think that contributed to my general distaste for her and this brief insight into her.
The bonus epilogue was amazing! I absolutely loved everything about it and seeing a peak into America and Maxon’s life together was fantastic. I love how real and down to Earth these characters are. Maxon is still swoon-worthy and enchanting and America is still…well America. They are the perfect balance of order and chaos and this extra scene left me with a giant smile across my face. I also liked the where are they now. It was great to see that after the selection process each girl eventual came into their own and found their own happily ever after in the world, whether through marriage or independent travel. All is right in the world, I loved this story!
