REVIEW:
I have serious mixed feelings about this book, ugh. The first 3 books of The Selection Series that tell the story of America and Maxon are enchanting and captivating; however, Eadlyn is a hellion and a complete brat. I wanted to like her and find redeemable qualities but every good quality was overshadowed by bad ones. She is selfish, chants to herself how powerful she is, refuses to do practically anything that she doesn’t want, and she is so damn dramatic I want to slap her upside the head. Initially, I was giving her the benefit of the doubt, she is in a hard situation but truthfully her personality is the main problem.
I am also appalled that America and Maxon could raise someone to be so self-centered when her 3 brothers are not *ss-hats in any way shape or form. Eadlyn herself is just a toxic b*tch, sorry to be so frank but that is really the only way I can sum up her as a character. The process of the selection flowed smoothly, it was typical and exactly what I expected. I just can’t get over Eadlyn, she is brash, irresponsible, and rude as hell. She just makes me angry as a character. Everything else in the story was great if you cut out the damn focal point! UGH….
