This book was all about the feels, both good and bad. I really enjoyed Coast, it might not have gutted me in ways that previous Jay McLean books did but I enjoyed the story. Becca is a terrible, hot mess; it seems she takes one step forward and one step back. There were moments when I wanted to slap her and tell her to get over herself but I was so happy by the end of the book to see that she had so much personal growth over the course of the story.
Tommy practically grew up before my eyes and overall, Josh is still a dreamboat. He is resilient, determined, loving, and above all, patient. There were literally scenes when I had to pick my jaw up off the ground. When Tommy called a certain someone a butt-sniffer I was on the verge of tears from laughter. The story of Josh and Becca is also heartbreaking but inspiring to know that regardless of how much bad life can throw at you (and believe me Becca gets it dumped on her) there can still be good.
The ending was perfect, and it was absolutely everything I wanted. It left me with a smile on my face and it just felt right. The closing of this book and series, it was perfect. I would have loved to see more of Josh’s friends; however, I understand completely that Coast was more Becca’s story than Joshs.
