Review: Confess by Colleen Hoover
SYNOPSIS:
Auburn Reed has her entire life mapped out. Her goals are in sight and there’s no room for mistakes. But when she walks into a Dallas art studio in search of a job, she doesn’t expect to find a deep attraction to the enigmatic artist who works there, Owen Gentry.

REVIEW:
I am having mixed feelings about this book, but first lets take a moment to admire the perfection that is this cover. Do you see the face…I must have glanced at this cover a dozen times before I noticed it. It is stunning and the type of cover that all books should aspire to be as beautiful as. Now lets get back to what I did and didn’t love about this story. I loved how complex and dimensional Auburn and Owen are. They have a multitude of secrets and layers that neither are quick to share. This makes moments and secrets shared between them that much more tender.
Now there is a certain character, and for spoiler sake, I will not identify them but they creeped me out. Like I had to pause mid-way through the book because I was like nope, nope, nope. Red-flag be flying high in the sky right now. Then as the story progressed…they continued to get creepier! I was like I cannot deal with this, at 76% I wanted to throw up because I was completely disgusted and creeped out. In the end, the story wraps up into a nice little package that definitely answers one of my remaining questions and left me with a smile on my face. I don’t know if it was Colleen’s intention to write such an appalling character but if it was, bravo Colleen you succeeded.
