REVIEW:

While the sex in this book was scorching, the relationships were meh. I wasn’t overly in love with this story line, I don’t know if it was because I could find relate-able characteristics in Ruby or Troy or because I didn’t particularly care for Troy as a character, but it just didn’t do it for me. I found Troy’s anguish to fickle and him to be weepy one minute and trying to have sex the next. I guess my issue was there was no progression for his emotions and the ups and downs to him were giving me whip-lash. I didn’t really see any character growth with Ruby, I found her to be brazen and reckless and she was still that way at the end of the story and I just didn’t particularly care for her one-dimensional personality.

Now lets talk about the off-the charts sex scenes, they were hot enough to make me uncomfortable. I was glowing red with blush reading through them, to the point where I had to step away from my Kindle and take breaks while reading them because they were too steamy. I would have liked to have seen more of a slow burn to Troy and Ruby’s relationship instead of the insta-lust turned insta-love. I also kinda felt that things weren’t resolved at the end of the story. It was too fast and I was left with questions and didn’t feel like I had closure. I am glad I picked up the story but I don’t think I would read it again.
