Review: One Night of Scandal by Elle Kennedy

REVIEW:
This book was disappointing to say the least. Where book 1, One Night of Sin, blew me away with a sexy romance and tense plot, One Night of Scandal lacked that balance. This book was 100% predictable romance and while I anticipated some of the story line being predictable, I didn’t anticipate it being as bland as it was. I was hoping for a searing romance and a tantalizing plot…what I got was a typical romance and barely any plot. I was actually disappointed by the lack of a story line.
Some of the issues in book 1 are brought up in this book, but they are quickly addressed and the focus is replaced on Reed and Darcy. While I love a sizzling romance, I also desperately crave a balance. Seriously, the driving force between the entire story was the romance and it was not strong enough to carry the story line. Because if we are being honest, we all saw these two getting together from a mile away, so anyone not seeing this ending with neat little bow is a nincompoop.
Reed is interesting but his back story was very flimsy and felt filled with excuses for why he was the way he was. Also, for Darcy being such a smart, quick-witted character…she sure did a lot of dumb sh*t in this book. It was just a mediocre read that hardly held my interest…which is a significant let down because I really enjoyed the first book.
