Review: The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang
A heartwarming and refreshing debut novel that proves one thing: there’s not enough data in the world to predict what will make your heart tick.
Stella Lane thinks math is the only thing that unites the universe. She comes up with algorithms to predict customer purchases–a job that has given her more money than she knows what to do with, and way less experience in the dating department than the average thirty-year-old.
It doesn’t help that Stella has Asperger’s and French kissing reminds her of a shark getting its teeth cleaned by pilot fish. Her conclusion: she needs lots of practice–with a professional. Which is why she hires escort Michael Phan. The Vietnamese and Swedish stunner can’t afford to turn down Stella’s offer, and agrees to help her check off all the boxes on her lesson plan–from foreplay to more-than-missionary position…
Before long, Stella not only learns to appreciate his kisses, but to crave all the other things he’s making her feel. Soon, their no-nonsense partnership starts making a strange kind of sense. And the pattern that emerges will convince Stella that love is the best kind of logic…

You know that rare book that comes along and is just the perfect read; regardless of the weather, day, mood, the book is flawless…THAT IS THIS BOOK! Seriously, from start to finish this book had me smiling, hell let me be honest here, I finished the book three hours ago and I am still sitting here with a cheesy grin on my face just smiling at the pure joy and happiness this book brought me. If this is only Helen Hoang’s debut novel, I truly can’t wait to see what she comes up with next!
Stella is a character who so desperately needed her story to be told. She is endearing, real, honest, and I couldn’t help but fall for her. It is always encouraging to see strong, intelligent women in romance and Stella is that to a T. Michael is all the swoon and my heart felt for him, once you learn his back story and hear more about him, you can completely understand why he acts the way he does. I was falling in love with these characters before I even realized it. Their story is one of patience, miscommunications, and fuzzy-warm feelings. They are just so damn adorable, like honestly I can’t stop smiling…I want every book to leave me feeling this way.
I started this story with the intent of savoring it, I heard really good things about it and wanted to soak up each moment but by page 102 that plan was thrown out the window and I devoured the book in one sitting. I couldn’t put it down. I was giggling, swooning, blushing, cringing, and sighing with content because that is what this sweet, heart-warming romance will make you do.
There are plenty of secondary characters who are introduced and I hope they all get a story…except Philip because he is poo. I was just riveted and enthralled by this romance. An artfully crafted love story that will leave your heart full. Seriously, friends go get this book!
