Review: Co-Ed by Rachel Van Dyken

SYNOPSIS:

Four guys.

Constant moaning.

And a revolving door across the college suite I somehow ended up in because my first name is Shawn.

They don’t discriminate. Girls. Guys. Grandmas. Plants (okay maybe not plants) all walks of life stroll in stressed to the brim, and leave so satisfied I’m wondering what sort of talents lie behind that door.

My roommate calls them the pleasure ponies.

But the rest of the college campus?

They just call them the new face of Wingmen Inc. A paid for relationship service that makes big promises.

Breakup? They’ll glue you back together again.

Depressed? They have the magic pill.

Lonely? Just spend a few minutes while they rub you down and you’ll forget all about it.

And broken hearts? Well, that’s their specialty. They’ll fix you.

For a price…

I swore I wouldn’t get involved.

But apparently they like a challenge, and a girl who doesn’t put up with their BS is basically like waving a red flag in front of a bull.

They. All. Charged.

But one holds my attention above the rest.

Knox Tate looks like a Viking — and getting pillaged is starting to look more appealing by the day. Though he’s hiding something — all of them are. And the closer I get. The more I realize that some things are left better in the past.

You’ve read reverse harem books before — but you’ve never read one like this. It’s not what you think, or is it? Dive in and find out…

Knox, Leo, Finn, and Slater are waiting, and they aren’t patient men.

Welcome to the new face of Wingmen Inc — You’re welcome.

REVIEW:

*Book Received in Exchange for Honest Opinion/Review*

This book…wow, to say I am speechless is an understatement. How does Rachel Van Dyken manage to write a refreshing, unique romance with a twist every d*mn time? This book was positively delicious, and while her author note at the beginning left me a little nervous, I was so glad I dived in. I have never heard of a harem or reverse harem but I found the twist Rachel put on it to be endearing and adorable. Knox, Leo, Finn, and Slater are all the levels of swoon and what can I say…I am a sucker for Wingmen Inc.

What I really enjoyed was seeing some familiar last names, I love these little touches Rachel puts in her stories. Shared last names and distant relatives of previous book characters is a detail that I can appreciate. It’s a fun surprise and a nice twist. Rachel addresses the interracial couple aspect with class, she wasn’t spamming the reader but instead addressed the topic with dignity. Shawn is a strong enough female that even with the past trauma she has endured, she won’t let anything stop her.

The woman is determined. I found Finn and Leo to be absolutely hilarious. While I would have loved to have some more banter between Knox and Shawn, what banter they did have had me in a fit of giggles. There was touch of suspense to the story, meaning something went down three years ago and I spent the majority of the book wondering what the h*ll happened?! When the ending was revealed, well lets just say I never saw it coming.

As always, I can never predict Rachel’s plot lines, the twist left me reeling. I was also gratefully that Rachel wrapped things up and answered my lingering questions before the story ended. Overall, I really liked the story and I am praying that Leo, Finn, and Slater all get their own books too!!
