Review: Moonlight Seduction by Jennifer L. Armentrout
The de Vincent brothers are back—and so is the intrigue that surrounds them—in New York Times bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout’s sizzling new novel…
Nicolette Bresson never thought she’d return to the de Vincents’ bayou compound. It’s where her parents work, where Nikki grew up… and where she got her heart broken by Gabriel de Vincent himself. Yet here she is, filling in for her sick mother. Avoiding Gabe should be easy, especially when so much of Nikki’s time is spent trying not to be stabbed in the back by the malicious hangers-on who frequent the mansion. But escaping memories of Gabe, much less his smoking-hot presence, is harder than expected—especially since he seems determined to be in Nikki’s space as much as possible.
Gabriel spent years beating himself up over his last encounter with Nikki. He’d wanted her then, but for reasons that were bad for both of them. Things have now changed. Gabe sees more than a girl he’s known forever; he sees a smart, talented, and heartbreakingly beautiful woman… one who’s being stalked from the shadows. Now, Gabe will do anything to keep Nikki safe—and to stop the de Vincent curse from striking again.

I am obsessed with this series and Moonlight Seduction was no exception. I was captivated and hypnotized by the the de Vincent brothers once again. Honestly, JLA has out done herself with a masterful balance of paranormal, mystery, and romance resulting in the perfect contemporary novel. I can’t help but fall head over heels in love with the de Vincent brothers, I adored Lucian’s wit and humor, Gabe is the perfect amount of sex appeal and hero, but what I am really holding out for is Dev…whose book doesn’t come out till January! *weeps*
Now lets talk about Nic and Gabe because wooooooooooooo sexual tension. The air is palpable with desire between these two. I love a couple who has history, especially the kind that Nic and Gabe have. Several years apart does nothing to simmer their desire, it only makes them burn brighter. They know each other and they obviously care about each other but mysterious events keep occurring or foots keep being inserted in mouths and that really causes them to fight for their HEA. I adored Nic and her history with the brothers, it made the story that much more relatable, I mean who hasn’t had a childhood/teenage crush?!
But in typical JLA fashion, she excels at the plot twist. I mean I am blissfully reading along and around 74% I am like BAM, HELLO STORY LINE TWIST I NEVER SAW COMING! I was riding the train and dying, yes dying while everyone around me was giving me a strong side eye. But dang, I never saw that coming and I am still kind of reeling from it while simultaneously being excited for Dev’s book! I would have loved a little more at the ending but that’s because I just don’t want the story to end. Another flawless read from Jen!
