Review: Anything You Can Do by R.S. Grey
SYNOPSIS:

REVIEW:
A cute, quick read and while this isn’t R.S. Grey’s best, it still had me laughing out loud. This story went by ridiculously fast, it is one of the shorter books I’ve read by R.S. Grey. Now let me dive into what I liked and what I thought was missing. Starting off with the cover and synopsis, both of which I love. The cover is all the swoon as is Lucas Thatcher. The synopsis left me with an instant grin on my face which is why I had to order the book immediately.
I liked how the story and drama unfolded. There is enough tension and warfare occurring that the story flows effortlessly from one page until the next. Lucas and Daisy’s banter and encounters had me giggling and grinning like a fool. But there was one flaw for me, actually maybe two…First, they haven’t seen each other in 11 years and even if you “pick-up right where you left off” people change. I find it hard to believe that these two are carbon copies of their juvenile selves and it bothered me that they didn’t really catch up on the years in between. It was written off as them basically competing with and pining for each other. I missed that substance to fill in the gap where they spent their lives apart.
I think the second thing that bothered me is it started to get a little too sex heavy. And while the whole sexual warfare things is part of the synopsis, I thought there would be some ‘falling’ for each other involved. The whole novel was a build up of orgasms to poof we are in love. There is banter and hilarity but I missed the substance to their relationship. I missed the heartfelt, tender moments, which didn’t come till the last handful of pages. Which was a little too late in my opinion. So while everything was keep light, quick, and fun I would have liked to have seen some substance and meat to the story.
