Review: Rolling The Dice by Alessandra Torre
There was a reason I was handcuffed to the bed, chocolate syrup smeared over both nipples. Dario Capece was getting married, and if he thought he’d ditch me to marry some rich Vegas bitch, then he had another thing coming.
I was taking my revenge in the best way possible: his best friend. Seduction was a new game for me, but thankfully, Trip Reinnet was good at reading signs and delivering orgasms. While a hurricane gathered force and moved closer, I played a risky game of love, luck and sex, with my most valuable possession up for grabs: my heart.
REVIEW:
Scorching hot, my first Alessandra Torre book thanks to the Read Me Romance podcast. But unfortunately this book seemed to be all heat and no substance. There was plenty of lusty glances and sexy times but there seemed to be no build up. It was an insta-love, insta-lust, I don’t even know.
The synopsis seems to be disconnected from the story. The hurricane seemed like a side factor that was just tossed in their to spice things up. And I find it hard to believe that this relationship has anything to do with love, considering the entire book took place in a single night. This is hard to do as a stand-alone novel. I think I would have enjoyed it more if I read the previous books that it tied into.
Stephanie seemed hell bent on revenge sex…but is it really a revenge when the guy has already staked his claim on you and the other guy has already moved on? Stephanie needs to get over herself. Trip is all the tough and brooding alpha we expect but that’s about all we find out. I barely even got a character description for these two. The story just felt overly rush and sloppy.
