Review: Paper Hearts by Ali Novak
SYNOPSIS:

REVIEW:
I absolutely adored Heartbreakers when I first read it so I knew as soon as Paper Hearts came out I had to get the book. This was for several reasons, one I am a sucker for boy band centered books…I just can’t help myself. But two, Ali Novak is one author I always go to when I want a feel good, fluffy read that won’t weight heavy on my heart, and she delivers every single time!
This book was sticky cute, I may even say it was stupidly cute, filled with all the adorable moments I want in a contemporary romance YA book. Lets first talk about the characters. I loved Alec, from his quiet, introspective personality, to the moments where he truly shined, he had me swooning. Felicity was a little more of a mystery, she goes through a journey of self-discovery and self-realization over the course of the story and by the end she really came into her own. These two complimented each other in the most perfect way.
The band all makes an appearance in the book and they had me laughing out loud. I think this is why I love this series. The friendships are relate-able, down to Earth, and real. Well as real is hanging out in a mansion unsupervised is. But I digress, the point is the dialogue among these characters feels as if I am sitting around a fire chatting with them. I am totally submerged in the conversation and captivated by the world, it’s as if for a little moment in time I am transported into the Heartbreakers’ universe.
I loved the plot, which is centered upon Felicity’s search for her sister. Which turns into a crazy road trip. Secrets are revealed, lies are told, and uncertainty is abound but everyone comes out on the other side stronger than before. This was just a whimsical delight to read and I can’t wait for the next one!
