REVIEW:
This audiobook took me a while to get into, and I think it was because the characters are so old. And by old I mean over the age of 50, which is not my usually demographic in reading…as you can tell from my other reviews on the blog. This was a catch 22 because the characters were already in love and had been together for years, which was nice because no insta-love, but on the flip side…I couldn’t relate to the characters at all.
Once the story got going I was intrigued, a little far fetch and out there but I enjoyed it. But I almost didn’t finish it because the plot didn’t pick up until over halfway through the story. Prior to that I was bored and it felt very redundant, Dag would be talking about Brenae then Brenae would essentially repeat the same things about Dag. They did compliment each other nicely and you could definitely pick up that they have been together for years.
Yet, I don’t think this the author for me. I like the whole falling in love aspect, and I like to read about characters closer to my age and not my parents’ age. Which is no fault to the author here, I just connect and resonate more with characters who are younger and going through similar experiences to my own.
