Review: Salvaged by Jay Crownover
SYNOPSIS:
Hudson Wheeler is tired of being the nice guy. He’s ready to start living in the moment but when he meets Poppy Cruz, her sad eyes hook him in right away. Wheeler can see Poppy’s pain and all he wants to do is take care of her and make her smile, whatever it takes.

REVIEW:
ALL THE FEELS! *shouts from rooftop* Okay, now that we got that out of the way, I am going to attempt to be a blogger who dissects their feelings in an articulate manner. The key word being ‘attempt’ because this book has me all sorts of torn up. Tender, heartbreaking, fuzzy feeling filled conclusion to an epic series. I adored Salvaged, written in a completely different style for Jay Crownover, I couldn’t get enough of this story line.
Poppy and Wheeler are different; they aren’t jaded, harsh characters with a chip on their shoulders, no. These two just have the biggest hearts and are all courage and love. And while they each have their demons to battle, this is more of an internal struggle. There isn’t a cartel member hunting them down, no kidnappings are occurring, etc. Everything is overcoming past trauma. For Poppy, she has to find her self-worth and her own strength/reason to live. For Wheeler, well he needs to realize that family isn’t just blood, and that you have to get back up regardless of how many times that life tries to keep you down.
As the story progresses, Poppy and Wheeler steam up the pages and find solace in each other. Wheeler is tender and patient; honestly, he had my heart soaring. Poppy transforms over the story and I think what I loved about her is I started to see glimpses of Salem shine through. But the best part of this entire story was the bonus epilogue…
Which had the Marked Men and the Saints of Denver making an appearance! Just when I think my heart was about to burst, Jay throws caution to the wind and my feelings implode. I tear up because there is just so much closure and feels! These characters have been in my life for years, they hold a part of me and a special place in my heart. To see them all find happiness and families was too much. I was a blubbering mess and just cradled the book to my chest as I let out a sigh of contentment. This was the closure I needed.
