REVIEW:
This audiobook was so good I finished the whole story in one day. Riding the train home- listening to the book, cooking dinner- listening to the book, cleaning- listening to the book…needless to say I couldn’t put it down. This is just a downright delightful series and When a Scot Ties the Knot is no exception.
I think I should start with Maddie who is the awkward, shy girl after my own heart. She has a heart of gold, endless intellect, a sharp mouth, and a fantastic imagination. I mean you would have to in order to make up such a lavish tale at the tender age of 16. But when Logan MacKenzie shows up on her doorstep, oh my Lord. Pause story, giggle uncontrollably, resume listening. Captain MacKenzie is all the swoon! Have I mentioned I have a thing for Scotsmen because I definitely have a thing for Scotsmen. So of course as I am listening to his delicious Scottish brogue, I am Googling about kilts, modern Scotsmen, and at this point someone should take my phone away.
Captain MacKenzie is the true war hero I wanted, a complete alpha, determined, stubborn, rugged, loyal, but most of all…a complete softy once you get past the tough exterior. Their banter was packed with charm and wit and there were so many scenes that left me with a cheesy grin on my face. Just an enchanting story with a whimsical couple, a magical castle, and an epilogue that still makes me smile when I think about it.
