Review: Top Secret by Sarina Bowen & Elle Kennedy

Jock. Secretly a science geek. Hot AF.
LobsterShorts: So. Here goes. For her birthday, my girlfriend wants…a threesome.
SinnerThree: Then you’ve come to the right hookup app.
LobsterShorts: Have you done this sort of thing before? With another guy?
SinnerThree: All the time. I’m an equal opportunity player. You?
LobsterShorts: [crickets!]
SinnerThree, 21
Finance major. Secretly a male dancer. Hot AF.
SinnerThree: Well, I’m down if you are. My life is kind of a mess right now. School, work, family stress. Oh, and I live next door to the most annoying dude in the world. I need the distraction. Are you sure you want this?
LobsterShorts: I might want it a little more than I’m willing to admit.
SinnerThree: Hey, nothing wrong with pushing your boundaries…
LobsterShorts: Tell that to my control-freak father. Anyway. What if this threesome is awkward?
SinnerThree: Then it’s awkward. It’s not like we’ll ever have to see each other again. Right? Just promise you won’t fall in love with me.
LobsterShorts: Now wouldn’t that be life-changing…
REVIEW:
The book was NA perfection! It was everything I wanted in a college romance, enemies to lovers – check, let’s just get it out of our system – check, and forced close proximity – check. It was just a delicious slow burn. I was hesitant going in because you all know how I feel about a love triangle, but I promise just read the story. There isn’t really a love triangle and these two boys are perfect for each other.
Luke and Keaton are a delight, from their sexy banter and stubborn attitudes, to them steaming up the bedroom, I was torn between speed reading because I was dying to know what was going to happen next to wanting to slowly read and savor every sentence. In the end I finished the story in a day *shrugs* sorry I have no self control. I loved how these two started off. As they anonymously message each other, they slowly build a friendship and sexual chemistry. The first in person meeting had me cringing and blushing. Oh who am I kidding, this whole story had me blushing.
I loved how they each had family problems to work through but the main focus was on their budding relationship. The family tensions had my heart aching for both of these characters but the tense scenes are balanced with heart and humor. From Keaton’s persistence to Luke’s stubborn desire to keep everyone at arms length, these two had the ideal balance of push and pull. The story was witty, charming and left me with a smile on my face, I hope we might see more from these boys in the future because that is a book I would definitely read.
