Review: Try by Ella Frank

SYNOPSIS:

Try – verb: to make an attempt or effort to do something or in this case…someone.

Sex. Logan Mitchell loves it, and ever since he realized his raw sexual appeal at a young age, he has had no problem using it to his advantage. Men and women alike fall into his bed—after all, Logan is not one to discriminate. He lives by one motto—if something interests you, why not just take a chance and try?

And he wants to try Tate Morrison.

Just coming out of a four-year marriage with an ex-wife from hell, a relationship is the last thing on Tate’s mind. He’s starting fresh and trying to get back on his feet with a new job at an upscale bar in downtown Chicago.

The only problem is, Tate has caught the unwavering and unwelcome attention of Mr. Logan Mitchell – a regular at the bar and a man who always gets what he wants.

Night after night Tate fends off the persistent advances of the undeniably charismatic man, but after an explosive moment in the bar, all bets are off as he finds his body stirring with a different desire than his mind.

As arrogance, stubbornness and sexual tension sizzles between the two, it threatens to change the very course of their lives.

Logan doesn’t do relationships. Tate doesn’t do men. But what would happen if they both just gave in and…tried?

REVIEW:

This book wasn’t at all what I expected, but exactly what I needed at the same time. This is probably one of the steamiest novels that I have ever read and as I finished the last page, all I can think of is how scorching hot this book was. I was in a constant state of blushing. So needless to say there are tons of sizzling sex scenes but they are nicely balanced with Logan and Tate getting to know each other.

The beginning of the story starts off a little crass and I was wondering what I was getting myself into. Logan is a sexual barracuda, he goes after what he wants; shamelessly, unabashed, and relentless. I don’t think I have ever read such a confident character before…at least in the bedroom. In contrast, Tate turns him down and so begins a delicious, slow-burn game of cat-and-mouse.  That doesn’t bring down the steam level though, there is a bit of voyeurism and a round of phone-sex, both which leave me with a beet red face.

There is something so appealing about Logan and Tate dancing around each other and just knowing at some point they are going to cave to the endless sexual tension sparking between them. But that wasn’t even peak steam level, the real icing on the cake was the dirty talk which had me dying. Logan’s mouth is unfiltered and when Tate comes into his own in the bedroom…*flails arms wildly* I can’t even. Just take my word for it.

I loved that this was so much more than a hook up and ended up being a learning experience for both of them. There are moments of vulnerability and tenderness. They endless pushed each others buttons and the story is filled with top-notch banter. When they weren’t making me blush, they had me giggling. But that ending has me dying for more.
