Review: Trust by Ella Frank
TRUST – verb: to believe in the reliability, truth, or strength of another.
Up until now, Logan Mitchell has never had much of a reason to trust anyone.
Having struggled with a self-identity crisis throughout college, he’s spent the years since then creating a sophisticated facade to present to the world.
It’s an armor he thought was impenetrable—until he met Tate Morrison.
The gorgeous, headstrong bartender he’d sat across from only months ago has taken a tight hold of his heart, and Logan is discovering that it’s time to let go.
It’s time to let someone inside.
After years of placing his dreams on hold for his family, Tate has finally chosen to do what makes him happy and follow his heart.
The one thing he never would’ve imagined was that it would lead him into the arms of a man—and not just any man—the striking, never-takes-no-for-an-answer Logan Mitchell.
Tate has fallen hard, and as his world is turned on its axis and they move forward together, he finds his life becoming more entwined with the confident, successful lawyer.
Even though neither man expected the other, it’s time to trust in their relationship—but not everything comes so easily…
REVIEW:
This book was filled with all the plot twists I never saw coming. I am not even sure how to write a spoiler free review at this point but I am going to try my hardest to do so.
I spent a decent portion of the story sighing at how stupidly sweet and tender Logan and Tate can be when they want to. There were just so many one-liners that had me holding my chest and swooning from how delightfully perfect these two are. In comparison, the other half of the story was spent blushing because this is by far the raunchiest book I have ever read. The sexual chemistry is off the charts and well lets just say there were many, many steamy scenes, some of which are making me blush when I just think about them.
But what I really love about this book is the dialogue. The conversations between characters lead to some hilarious banter, whispered truths, new friendships, and epic dirty talk. There was one huge plot twist that had me holding back tears but everything was okay in the end. While it was tense there for a hot minute, it also stripped away any remaining walls that Logan and Tate had between them and they came out stronger on the other side.
The secondary characters added some needed comic relief but they also added another layer of complexity to Logan and Tate. It was such a nice, reassuring point in the story line to see that Logan and Tate have a support system around them, whether or not they are aware of it. Needless to say, this story had me feeling a lot of feels.
