Review: The Space Between by Kate Canterbary

SYNOPSIS:

Some lines are meant to be crossed.

Patrick
That hair. That fucking hair. It was everywhere, always, and I wanted to tangle my fingers in those dark curls and pull. And that would be fine if she wasn’t my apprentice.

Andy Asani was nothing like I expected. She was exotic and scary-brilliant, and the slightest murmur from those lips sent hot, hungry lust swirling through my veins. Outside my siblings, she was the only person I could name who shared my obsession with preserving Boston’s crumbling buildings.

Andy
My wants were few: good eats, tall boots, hot yoga, interesting work. One incredibly hot architect with the most expressive hazel eyes I ever encountered and entirely too much talent in and out of the bedroom wasn’t part of the original plan. Apparently he was part of the package.

Wine was my rabbi and vodka was my therapist, and I needed plenty of both to survive my apprenticeship. Especially with Patrick Walsh leaving love notes in the form of bite marks all over my body.

REVIEW:

I want to like this series, I really truly do. But this book had so many of the same issues I had with book one. Boy meets girl, both fall in love, they mess it up, boy spends remainder of book trying to get UNDESERVING girl back. Rage ensues from me, the end.

Andy and Patrick are the definition of forbidden romance and a lot of lawsuits. They seem to float on the same wavelength and just understand each other. Patrick is a level 5 stalker which apparently is a trait in the Walsh men. While in contrast, Andy is a self-absorbed, self-centered c*nt. While I can see moments of strength and vulnerability in Patrick. I saw jack squat from Andy, in fact when her best friend straight up called her on her bullsh*t, I cheered, “Finally, someone told this self-righteous b*tch how horrid she is.”

And that is pretty much feels on Andy. Patrick and Andy have a miscommunication on both ends. Patrick left out a minor detail that Andy read on confidential paperwork she thought she was entitled to. And Andy didn’t mention some gossip circulating around about her at her alma mater. But yet there is 30% of a story where Patrick is groveling for forgiveness. Leave her Patrick, you can do better!

I don’t even know why I am continuing you series…yes I do. Its for the M/M romance that is coming up. Just d*mn these women are so unlikable. The Walsh family dynamic and comradery is really the only saving grace and even then its not enough for me. I finish the story and thank goodness that is over.
