Review: Viper by Ella Frank & Brooke Blaine
Scorching chemistry. Red-hot lyrics. An irresistible bad boy.
Halo, the new lead singer for Fallen Angel, never stood a chance against Viper, the legendary lead guitarist for the band.
From the moment Halo set foot in Viper’s lair, the match was lit, threatening to consume the two men with the heat of their desire. But when their casual flings begins to morph into more, will it leave the entire band in flames?
After all, it may have been Halo who fell from grace, but it’s only a matter of time before Viper falls for an angel.
REVIEW:
This story had all the emotional development and depth that I had been missing in book one! The band jets off to Miami to write and record their debut album and along the way Halo falls hard for Viper and vise-versa. Except, Viper doesn’t do relationships…and Halo doesn’t do f*ck buddies, and here is where chaos ensues.
This story picks up right where book one left off, and even though Halo and Viper have finally sealed the deal, the sexual tension between them is only starting to boil. From small touches to scorching hot sex scenes; they can’t get enough of one-another. But this story adds a layer of character development, emotional vulnerability, and character history. You get to learn about Viper’s past and why he is such a jaded *sshole. Halo dances the fine line between confessing his feelings and pretending what him and Viper are doing is nothing more.
And all along the way, these two grow so much. Halo realizes his inner strength and self-worth. He realizes he is worth so much more than a casual f*ck. Viper, in comparison, finally pulls his head out of his *ss. While sex buddies was Viper’s idea, somewhere along the way he realizes he has developed feeling for Halo. Viper has a come to Jesus moment where he can man up or he can run from it all and lose Halo for good. In terms of relationships, these two grew leaps and bounds over the course of this story.
The band members add a layer of humor, charm, and hilarity to the story. I am dying to know more about Killian. We finally learn more about their manager, Brain, and he is literally the worst. But you also hear a little bit more about Trent and that elusive story. Overall it was a deliciously sexy read with just the right amount of rockstars and romance.
