Review: On Point by Annabeth Albert

REVIEW:
I enjoyed this story, but it definitely wasn’t my favorite. As is typical with the friends to lovers troupe, I get frustrated with waiting for the characters to pull their heads out of their *sses and realize what is in front of them. And that case held true with this story because poor Ben needed slapped upside the head something fierce.
The first half the story was excellent. Tense, action-packed, with a delightful mix of their past and their current reality. The pacing of the story had me begging for more and I couldn’t put the book down. Both men sustain heavy injuries and as a result, they are stuck doing PT and being home. But this is where things started to fizzle for me.
Ben was in such a deep denial for his feelings and at points it felt like things were being dragged out. Maddox on the other hand was an open book. These two men were on the complete opposite relationship spectrum, so much so that even as I close the book, I am not sure I see them working long term together. So while I didn’t hate reading this one in the series, its not one I’d pick up again.
