REVIEW:
I enjoyed this conclusion to an overall delightful series. Canaan was an intriguing character ever since he was first introduced several novels back, so I was happy to see him get his HEA. And we all know I am a sucker for the fake date troupe.
So Canaan and Renzo have instantaneous chemistry. They have been flirting and circling each other for months and when Canaan finally learns that Renzo is bi, he is wasting no time. Canaan and Renzo have the most adorable first date; playful, fun, charming and they truly spent the time getting to know each other. But then Canaan has the camping trip from h*ll to go on and while their relationship is still starting, Renzo takes one for the team and agrees to go.
Along the way these two realize they have a lot more feelings for each other than anticipated. Canaan’s ex is a garbage human being and his friends aren’t much better as they let this behavior go on for far too long. Renzo stands up for Canaan and the two start to fall for each other further and further. But Canaan isn’t the only one with issues, Renzo struggles in the bedroom. After numerous bad experiences, the man is a little insecure. I loved watching Canaan help Renzo find and unleash his inner sex god.
But what I didn’t care for was Renzo’s family. I found them to put a ridiculous amount of pressure on the man. Renzo is a hero, helps them financially, and then his mom has the audacity to criticize his rapid romance. Honestly, at the end, Canaan makes way more sacrifices than Renzo and this irked me because I found Renzo’s family undeserving of the endless sacrifices.
