Review: The King’s Men by Nora Sakavic
SYNOPSIS:

What a wild ride this series has been. Honestly, I feel a little lost now that this book is finished. I spent the previous day doing a deep dive of all the extras on Nora’s Tumblr and now I am just sitting here like how am I supposed to pick up another book?!
Gritty and raw with endless danger, these characters were put through the ringer and had to work for their happily-ever afters. I cannot get over the character arcs in this story though, they were so good! The characters all grew so much and this ragtag team of misfits found solidarity in each other. Neil must be protected at all costs, he found his voice and footing in this world and it had my heart swelling. Over the course of this book, we learn Andrew has a heart and it beats only for Neil, no matter how much he hates it. I love how unapologetic and selfless he is. Kevin really came into his own and finally took his spot as the best. Wymack is the parent that the majority of the team desperately needs. I could go on for days about the rest of the team, I love them.
There was so much action and drama but I have to praise Nora for giving the last 40% of the book to wrap up all the plot lines and loose ends. Every detail was captured and I had closure and answers to all my lingering questions. Every horrid incident and endless sacrifice these characters made was worth it in the end. And while none of these characters made it to the other side without damage, they held each other up and survived.
The best part of this book and the entire series was the delightful slow burn romance. From enemies, to tepid truths, to lovers, I will go down with this ship. Neil and Andrew moments had me reeling and squealing with delight. That first kiss, I died. I adored that their isn’t I love yous and tender moments, because that’s not who these two are, they are so much more. Their love is in staying and consent, and the endless sacrifices they make for each other. It’s in the truth games they play and the way that Andrew realizes far too late that he is in way too deep. I am just having all the f*ckin feels right now!
