Review: Bad Intentions by Ella Frank

SYNOPSIS:

My name isn’t Logan Mitchell, but Marcus St. James doesn’t know that…

When I showed up at my roommate’s work party, the last thing I expected was to find a man straight out of my dreams. But when the crowd parted and the fates aligned, there he was, waiting for me. Marcus St. James, president of ENN WorldWide News.

Sexy and powerful, with a stare that could freeze you in place, Marcus was the perfect reward for securing a job at Mitchell & Madison, the best law firm in Chicago. To play with the big fish, however, one must become a big fish, and that’s where my little white lie began.

It was one night. I was never going to see him again, and from the second we spoke, I knew he was interested. It was there in his eyes, the same fire in my veins. It was there in his voice, whenever he said my name.

The only problem? It wasn’t my name, and now I wanted more—much more.

But how can anything good come out of something that started with such bad intentions?

Bad Intentions is the first book in the Intentions Duet.

REVIEW:

This book was such a delight. Brazen characters with depth, endless sexual chemistry, and cameos from all of my old Ella Frank favorites; what more could a girl want?! I wasn’t anticipating to fall in love with Gabe and Marcus, but I fell fast and hard. These two were as hilarious as they were sizzling hot, nothing better than a book that makes me laugh one page and furiously blush the next.

I can’t even pick one favorite part of this story. I adored their first unconventional meeting, I loved how it was supposed to be a one-night stand and then things went to hell in a handbasket. Then there is Logan who even after all these year still is as charming and hilarious as ever. Logan and Gabe are two peas in a pod, they are similar but so different and I loved that Logan sort of took Gabe under his wing and guides him/mentors him. Not to mention Gabe’s relentless pursuit to gain Marcus’ forgiveness had me laughing out loud.

This is the type of book you read to feel good. It had me endlessly smiling and giggling. Now, don’t get me wrong, Ella Frank writes some notoriously hot sex scenes, but this story was just so perfectly balanced with witty banter, playful surprises, and even a few endearing moments. Marcus, for all the tough shell he wears, the man has a heart of gold. I didn’t even mind the age gap, I actually appreciated that Marcus and Gabe acknowledged it but moved past it.

In typical Ella Frank fashion, the end is a little cliff-hanger, which is why I waited until the Duet was completed to dive in. Just a light, fluffy, drop-dead sexy read that left me with the biggest smile…and quickly diving into the next book.
