Review: Dare Me by Ella Frank & Brooke Blaine

SYNOPSIS:

Dare Me is part two of the Dare to Try trilogy and should only be read after Dare You.

The moment Bash “Miss Razzle Dazzle” Vogel sashayed into Lieutenant Kieran Bailey’s life, both their worlds were turned upside down.

What started as an easy friendship quickly morphed into sizzling chemistry that neither one could deny.

But what Kieran knows better than anyone is that when a fire burns this hot and heavy, someone’s bound to get burned.

Do they dare to risk being together? Or will the flame of this hot match consume them both?

This series must be read in the following order:
Dare You (book one)
Dare Me (book two)
Truth or Dare (book three)

REVIEW:

Have I mentioned my undying love for Bash yet? There is just something about him that is so undeniable and I can’t get enough of him. This book was one part sexual tension, one part feels, and a sprinkle of Sean being both the best and worst brother ever. And honestly I am obsessed. It’s the perfect escapism to familiar territory, old friends, and a new HEA in the works.

This book picks up right where the first left off on an epic cliffhanger. There is a misunderstanding between Bash and Kieran, so Bash retreats home to nurse his heart and attempts to forget about Kieran. But Kieran can’t let go of Bash and hops on a plane to hunt his man down *cue the swoon*. Honestly, this book was all about the grand gestures and I couldn’t get enough of it. As Kieran and Bash both lay everything out on the table, I fell deeper in love with both of them.

The return to South Haven had us reuniting with all our old favorites from there. Shaw being his over-protective self, Trent with his endlessly wicked smirks, Jackson being the steady right-hand man to Bash, and Lucas who still doesn’t have a filter. I was laughing-out-loud at this rag-tag team and it felt like I returned home after a long trip. Now don’t get me wrong, this is Brooke Blaine and Ella Frank, there are plenty of steamy and saucy moments, but they are balanced with so many heartfelt ones. Including one emergency call to Sean that has me grinning and blushing all at once just thinking about it.

And while Bash and Kieran are all in, they put on the brakes to play the long distance game. There is only one lingering question for these characters… how will they make this work in different parts of the world? I can’t wait to read the conclusion, even though I never want to leave this world.
