Review: Our Blood by Brea Alepoú

SYNOPSIS:

A coven isn’t a home without witches.

Finnely is still dealing with the aftermath of losing all that he’s known. The guilt that eats at him every day is only pushed down by his men who give him purpose: A stalker vampire, an a-hole prince vampire, and a broken wolf.

The humans are done turning a blind eye to the supernatural. They are causing too many casualties, bodies litter the streets and innocents are leaving the world too soon.

Stress levels are high as the weight of the world rests on their shoulders. The search for the false king is not only seeming impossible but deadly. They have to stick together in order to keep from being killed.

What lies in the dark must come to the light. Supernaturals will be forced into the eye of the public. How in the world will Finnely, Rome, Jacob, and Cambridge stay together?

REVIEW:

I have made a grave mistake, I started this series and it’s not complete yet?! I have to wait till December for the next book *weeps*. I am absolutely in love with this series; dark, gritty, and kinky, I can’t get enough. As I read this story I constantly found myself in a state of ‘what the heck am I reading’ and ‘can I have more of this delicious chaos?’.

The storyline can be split into two parts, one the romance and two the war. Obviously I am going to start with the romance, which I was obsessed with! Finnely always surprises me, he is truly a wild card but he is also slightly manipulative of Cambridge to get his way. Their constant push and pull leaves me grinning and blushing every time. Then there is Rome, who grew leaps and bounds this story, not to mention Rome’s relationship with Cambridge had me blushing and in awe of the dynamic between them…when I wasn’t blushing up a storm.

It was just a delightful balance between the four of them. Is Jacob still an unhinged, obsessive stalker, Yep! But I have to be honest, at the end of the day I liked it. His tendencies always lead to him saving and finding Finnely when he needs rescuing most. Is Cambridge still a ruthless arse, absolutely, but it works for him and he doesn’t realize it, but he also starts to bend for his men. Overall the sex scenes were tantalizing but there is also a hidden depth to their relationship that was a pleasant surprise.

Then there is the war, I was filled with anticipation and nerves waiting to see how things would play out. There were some tense scenes, plenty of plot twists, endless action, and I think at one point I even teared up but these characters continue to blow me away with their sacrifices. And after the battle, Brea sets the stage for the next book(s) in the series. And let me just say, I am stupidly excited for Rheland and Lynk…the king of vampires has finally met his match.
