Review: Solo by Ariana Nash
How far will he fall for love?
Samiel has escaped. It’s up to Solo to track him down and return him to the enclosures to await Mikhail and Konstantin’s punishment.
But Solo’s only lead is the one demon no angel can trust—the one demon Solo can’t resist—the incubus High Lord Luxen.
Luxen has offered to help. On one condition: Solo sets him free.
Dare he trust the notorious, manipulative demon lord? Can he trust himself not to succumb to the desires Luxen summons within him? There’s only one way to find out.
REVIEW:
Oh Solo, I have been waiting for this book since the conclusion of the war in Infernal Sin. Solo was that sweet, soft, loving, but fiercely protective and strong secondary character that captured your heart in the Primal Sin Trilogy. But to say I was surprised that Solo would meet his match in Luxen was an understatement.
Luxen in the Primal Sin Trilogy was the ABSOLUTE WORST. I will be the first to admit, I thought he was past redemption; however, Ariana Nash pleasantly surprised me with him. The book is told in dual POVs so we get inside Luxen’s head. There is so much more depth to Luxen, he is a product of a war, he shouldn’t have survived, he views himself as the scum that everyone calls him. Solo’s giant heart sees past all this to the man who wants change but is too afraid to embrace it. In contrast, Luxen unleashes all of Solo’s hidden desires.
I adored the tantalizing chemistry between Solo and Luxen but also how quickly they both fell. Solo was vehemently protective of Luxen, and rightfully so because it seems like everyone wants the High Lord dead. I would have loved to see a deeper connection form between Solo and Luxen but I also recognize this is only a novella, so I will take what I can get with Solo. And if you recall from the Primal Sin Trilogy, Solo had his cats, and the are back and still uprooting his life. This novella did not disappoint, my only complaint is I want more.
