Review: Whit by Cora Rose

SYNOPSIS:

Straight guys don’t have crushes on other dudes, right?

Except my roommate, Whit, is intriguing, and I find myself watching him constantly. He’s a mystery I can’t figure out. And these feelings I’m having about him are confusing.
Then, one night, I find myself wrapped around him, and after that, I can’t get enough.
But Whit has secrets. He doesn’t let people in, and the more I fall for him, the less I know.
I can’t let him go, though.
Until I realize I’m going to be the one broken at the end of our story.

REVIEW:

Well this book was an intriguing surprise. Cora Rose is a new to me author but what can I say, after reading the synopsis I was just as curious about Whit as Caleb was. I couldn’t get enough of this story, between trying to unravel the puzzle that was Whit while holding my breath that this romance would work out, I finished the book in hours.

I loved this bi-awakening book, Caleb and Whit were complete opposites but they make it work. Whit is an enigma; he was an onion, every layer peeled off revealed another layer of trauma and damage. This man is harboring so many secrets and so much pain, it’s amazing he is able to function. It also speaks volumes to how he is an exercise in control. I adored watching Caleb unravel him and learn all of his secrets.

In contrast, Caleb doesn’t really face any concerns about his budding relationship with Whit. When Caleb gets sick and Whit nurses him back to health, his family mistakes them for begin together and hilarity ensues. No matter how much Caleb tries to correct them, they just keep reassuring him how much they love him and accept his boyfriend. And eventually they give in and all h*ll breaks loose.

This story tore me apart and pieced me back together. The ending was *chef’s kiss* and gave me all the fuzzy feels. And as I closed the last page of this story, all I was thinking was I can’t wait to start the next one.
