Review: Caulky by K.M. Neuhold

SYNOPSIS:

Ren is in desperate need of a rebound fling. Lucky for him, the smoking hot contractor he hired has just the tool for the job.

The last thing I want is another relationship or another broken heart.

All I need are my bees and the occasional hookup to scratch the itch.

Okay, maybe meeting up with my hot contractor weekly is a little more than occasional. And maybe the way I’m starting to feel about the guy I’ve been anonymously chatting with online should concern me.

But CaulkyAF doesn’t want to meet, and Cole doesn’t want anything serious, so what’s the worst that could happen?

REVIEW:

This was the book I needed! It has been on my TBR for ages and I finally decided to give it a go; to be fair its a big series so maybe that is why it sat on the TBR for so long. The romance was tantalizing, the build-up and pacing was fantastic, and I simply couldn’t get enough of Ren and Cole.

The best part about this romance was how mature these characters were. There wasn’t some over-the-top drama and the characters were old enough to know what they wanted and to actually communicate. I loved the contrast between Ren and Cole steaming up the bedroom but remaining superficial; while CaulkyAF and Rebound sharing all their secrets but not wanting to meet in person. The texting and banter were top-notch and had me cheesy grinning throughout the book. Ren is so sassy and charismatic that he perfectly balances Coles gruff exterior and had me laughing out loud more than once.

Ren has enough hang-ups from his past relationship and Cole has enough commitment-phobia to carry the plot but not weigh it down. Both men grew but the story overall was lightweight, unbelievably sexy, and honestly the perfect escapism. I already downloaded the next book.
