Review: Stud by K.M. Neuhold

SYNOPSIS:

Stud: A boss, knob, or nail head…or, you know, the hot guy who’s way too young to keep asking me out with that adorably earnest smile …

It’s been three years since West walked into my bar and asked me out for the first time. I was relieved he stopped asking after the first few “no”s and a way-too-good-to-be-real kiss. He’s fifteen years younger than I am; it can only lead to trouble.

Of course, now he’s running through people off dating apps like it’s his job and wearing these lace panties that look really unfair on someone as furry and muscular as he is, and, um…what was I talking about?

I probably shouldn’t sabotage his dates, but I’m only human. I might not be ready to admit that I want him, but I’m definitely not ready to let anyone else have him either.

He’s too perfect, too hot, and I am in way too much trouble…

REVIEW:

I liked Sawyer and West but I spent the first half of this story wondering if Sawyer really deserved West. Now hear me out, West asked Sawyer out on numerous occasions and then after he finally gives up on Sawyer and dives back into the dating game, Sawyer has a change of heart. Or more so a change of if I can’t have him no one will…and that rubbed me the wrong way.

While Sawyers methods of sabotage were probably meant to be funny, I found them pitiful. But also Sawyers only hang up seems to be the age-gap, which isn’t enough of a reason to string a man on for 2+ years. His behavior was immature and frustrating at times. While West was so determined, the man knew what he wanted and was going to see it till the end, no matter how much Sawyer jerked him around.

Now don’t get me wrong, there were some really cute moments, I adored the baby geese that they nurtured and raised. The letters added a nice touch of depth and, in my opinion, furthered the connection Sawyer had to Gus. And most of all, the first date when West pulls out a list…my heart stopped. This man was far too perfect for Sawyer, but as long as he is happy, that’s all that matters.
