Review: Ben by Cora Rose
SYNOPSIS:

I never thought I would have to say this in a review, but this book had too much sex…at least one scene every chapter. Now before you say that would make you pick up the story, let me explain why it doesn’t work. I have been reading Cora Rose since she captivated me with Whit but the last few books in this series have been misses for me.
I had high hopes for Ben when I saw he was finally getting his romance. But the majority of the story is Ben getting railed, Ben’s inner dialogue about how big of a slut he is or how needy his hole is, Ben forgetting to eat, and Ben running away from his problems. The story lacked any balance. I don’t understand Cash and Ford’s attraction to Ben when he behaves as an actual child. When something goes wrong, he literally runs away and hides. It was so frustrating to continuously see a character who claims being an adult act like a petulant child.
Now don’t get me wrong, the sex scenes and chemistry between these three is off the charts but they lacked literally any emotional connect. I know that they have known each other their entire lives but I wanted to see some intimate conversations and character growth. I mean Cash literally just had his bi-awakening in his 40s and the response was to shrug and accept his new life?
The most in-depth conversations took place between Ben and secondary characters. Which is okay because I am excited for both Angel and Tatum (maybe) to get their own stories but why is Ben not having some heart-to-hearts with his men, or his dad? I mean the old ladies at the nursing home Ben works at know more about Ben’s heart than Ford and Cash. I just wanted more depth from this story.
