Review: Psycho Shifters by Jasmine Mas

Psycho Shifter by Jasmine Mas is a dark paranormal omegaverse reverse harem bully romance. It is the first book in the Cruel Shifterverse series and is about three psycho alpha shifters and the girl who stands her ground.SYNOPSIS:

Fight like a girl…or a shifter of lore.

After growing up with nothing, I’ve finally found my path to freedom: I’m a shifter, an elite soldier who transforms into a monster.

All I have to do is survive.

I didn’t count on my three 6’5 roommates. Covered in tattoos, jeweled, and horned, these are like no men I’ve ever dealt with before.

They don’t think I belong.
They don’t think I’m strong enough for war.
They don’t think I can fight.

I’m about to prove them wrong.

The only problem, can I survive them discovering the secrets of my past? In the battle for life and death, everyone is so much more than they seem.

Jax, Ascher, and Cobra are going to be devastated when they discover my truth…just wait until they see my shifted form.

REVIEW:

This story was absolutely unhinged, it’s been a while since I finished a book and said, “what the f*ck did I just read”. But that pretty much sums up my experience with Psycho Shifters. The plot line was so chaotic, there was never a moments peace, and the intimate moments could have used some finessing but overall…I think I need to read book two.

The book was action packed from the very first page. To Sadie growing up and receiving daily beatings and endless abuse to her being whisked away by a stranger in a cloak and dropped off in a new version of hell. Being the first female alpha isn’t easy, especially when everyone has over a foot of height on you and underestimates you. The animosity, tension, and endless danger really ramps things up, especially because the dangers lurk both inside and outside.

What I didn’t like was the sex scenes, they felt almost inserted into the story as an afterthought and since at the beginning of the story Sadie had never even been kissed, it felt like too much too fast with absolutely no build up. So the pacing on that needed to be better balanced with the chaos of the main plot. The ending, it left my jaw on the floor, plot twists and betrayal galore. I never even saw it coming and with that off to book 2 I go.
