Review: Red Hot Winter by K. Webster

SYNOPSIS:

August is bitter and cold.
Two people he loved most betrayed him.

Winter is hot and sultry.
She’s the enemy’s daughter.

A blowout fight between Winter and her dad sends her straight into August’s waiting arms.
But August doesn’t want to hold her…he wants revenge.

The two are an explosive combination whenever they’re together. August antagonizes and Winter pushes back. Under all the hate burning between them is an attraction so intense, neither can ignore it.

It’s only a matter of time before it consumes them both.

REVIEW:

Okay so for the most part, I have been enjoying the Read Me Romance podcast but I am going to be brutally honest, this book was gross. I have never read K. Webster and after this audiobook, I never will. Now the book was disclaimed it would be taboo, apparently that is K. Webster’s specialty. I’ve read professor-student romances and things along those lines so I go in with an open mind.

However, the age difference between Winter and August is about that of me and my dad. Now imagining one of my friends hooking up with my newly divorced parent when I’m still in high school…BARF. So gross *shudders* no, this is not okay. Now if I could get past the age difference, this still is not the book for me. Which is then followed up with intimacy issues.

The whole screw me till I am pregnant thing is the worst troupe of all time…cringe. Accidental unprotected sex, cringe. Discussing babies when you haven’t even told your friend about your relationship, cringe.  I think that’s what I did for the entire audiobook was cringe. So much sex that was lacking any depth or character development. A bunch of unanswered questions on the plot at the end. And yeah, I can’t with this book, hard pass.
